Rights of a Detained Person

Under Code C, the detention, treatment and questioning of suspects, there are many rights that an arrested person has:
Section 56 sees that the person has the right to have someone informed
Section 58 says that the suspect has the right to legal advice and that independent legal advice is available free of charge. Section 58 also says that the person arrested has the right to consult with a solicitor in private.
Other rights under Code C are that the suspect should be allowed to check the Codes of Practise and that they have the right to decent conditions.
